• Worship Services & Activities canceled until further notice
COVID-19 Information
In a message to the members of WELS, Synod President, Mark Schroeder began with the words:

“In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
Even though we might feel that the world is spinning out of control, we have Christ’s sure promise, “I have already won the victory!”

The Church Council of Friedens has decided to suspend worship temporarily at Friedens in view of the governor’s mandate to limit public gatherings of people to 10 people or less.  This was not an easy decision, but is obedience to the 4th Commandment which commands obedience to the governing authorities and obedience to the 5th Commandment which commands that we seek to do no harm to our neighbor.

From what we know, Friedens has canceled the following services:
  • All Lenten Services on Wednesdays March 25 and April 1)
  • Sunday worship March 21-22 & March 28-29
If it is God’s will, we will return to worship for April 9’s Maundy Thursday services of 9am and 6:30pm, and continue with 12pm and 6:30pm on Good Friday.

In the meantime, in conjunction with the area WELS congregations, we will provide online services.  You can access it any number of ways:
By working together, we plan to provide a full service, liturgy, hymns, and sermon so that you can participate at home.

Please do not forget your Lord or the work of the Kingdom with your prayers and your offerings.  The Finance Committee is working out a way for digital giving.  This can be done through Thrivent’s Simply Giving Program:

You can also mail your offering envelopes to the church office:

During this time of uncertainty, we all remain confident in God’s control over this world.  We entrust you and all people into the care of Jesus who is still at work to save his elect.
God be with

Pastor Michael Gorte
