Central Africa Medical Missions Opportunity

From our Central Africa Medical Mission in Malawi and Zambia

Special OpportunityWorld Malaria Day was April 25th 2010 –

Prayerfully consider supporting the ongoing work of our Central Africa Medical Mission in Malawi and Zambia to prevent and treat malaria. Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through bites of infected mosquitoes. One in five childhood deaths in Africa is due to the effects of this disease, but malaria is preventable and curable. A key strategy is sleeping under an insecticide-treated bed net, but right now less than a quarter of African children under age 5 do. Your gift helps our clinics provide bed nets, education, and treatment for families whose lives are impacted by malaria. An African child has between 1.6 and 5.4 episodes of malaria fever on average each year. (Key Facts about Malaria adapted from the World Health Organization 2009)
